shroud

Shroud was a project of love. I've always made clothes from whatever I could find, and this collection took that instinct to its natural extreme. Furnishing vinyl, latex, cut-up jeans, embroidered vulvas on tutu's and obsolete Qantas seatbelts all found their place. It was playful, satirical and deliberately obscene—a clash of contradictions brought together through craft and resourcefulness. Later, seeing Charli XCX wear pieces from the collection felt like a surreal moment

Working across runway collections sharpened my eye and instilled a deep appreciation for the details that most people never consciously notice. It was in the details where I learnt how to design.

History. I have always been fascinated by the narratives told through how we have historically dressed and what that says about the lives lived, their environments. Vintage sourcing forms an integral part of my design process, informing silhouette, fabrication, construction and the subtle details that give garments longevity and character.

Curiosity has always been the starting point of my work. It’s what led me to question not just how garments are made, but why we are drawn to them in the first place. This curiosity took me to Barcelona to study graphic communication, where I explored the psychology of dressing, branding and visual storytelling, and how meaning is constructed through design. It continues to shape the way I work today, pushing me to look beyond the garment itself and into the worlds, references and histories that inform it.

My approach to craft has been shaped by an appreciation that good design is the result of a series of thoughtful choices; how something is cut, what it is made from, who makes it, the team behind it, and how it is brought to life.
